Welcome and congratulations to the UMKC School of Dentistry Class of 2019! Today (August 24) marks the 1st day of coursework of what will no doubt be a remarkable 4-year journey filled with joy, tears, stress, elation, frustration and ultimately accomplishment and pride!
UMKC’s Class of 2019 is like no other! Nationally, 11,364 students applied to dental school this past year. According to UMKC, 865 of those students applied for admission at UMKC with 168 being interviewed before the 109-dental student class was finalized. Demographically, the class of 2019 consists of 44 (40%) females and 65 (60%) males, 71 Missouri students and 22 Kansas students. Ethnically, 22% are non-Caucasian. Academically, the class boasts an average DAT score of 19.4 and 3.63 science GPA.
